Gibbons eat almost only fruit. Occasionally, they also eat leaves and flowers. To find enough ripe fruit, gibbons must travel great distances through the forest. They do this by swinging from one tree to another with their long arms. This allows them to quickly get to a new spot of ripe fruit. They swing with ease to a branch as much as 10 meters away.
Gibbons have a large territory with their family group. Every morning these families let other gibbons know what their territory is by singing very loudly. They then make a high-pitched sound that can be heard up to a mile away.
