Christmas tree collection campaign
Give your Christmas tree a second life at AquaZoo Leeuwarden
After the holidays, you can hand in your Christmas tree with root ball at AquaZoo Leeuwarden and contribute to sustainability while earning a free ticket! On Friday 3 January 2025 from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM, the AquaZoo team will be ready to receive your tree on the car park.
Why hand in your Christmas tree at AquaZoo?
Instead of throwing your Christmas tree in the rubbish, your tree gets a second change at AquaZoo. The trees are planted in new park areas, like last year in the Churchill area, or used as enrichment for animals like tigers and the polar bears. A wonderful way to give your tree a sustainable use!
Win a half-day with a zookeeper at AquaZoo!
Do you have the tallest tree? When the Christmas trees are handed in, each tree is measured, the height of the tree is noted and you can leave your details. Who knows, maybe you'll soon be joining one of our zookeepers!
What do you get in return?
For every tree handed in, you will receive a free ticket to AquaZoo, valid until 14 February 2025. So you can enjoy a visit to the zoo yourself and watch your Christmas tree get a new life.
Submissions can only be made on Fiday 3 january 2025, between 10:00 AM and 03:00 PM.
The tree must have a root ball and be viable (no brown branches).
Minimum lengt: 1.5 metres.
No leftover artificial snow, glitter or other decorations.
1 Christmas tree = 1 free ticket (maximum of 1 tree per person).
Free tickets are valid until 14 February 2025 and not redeemable for cash.
