AquaZoo 3rd at 'Funniest Outing in Friesland'
AquaZoo has won bronze in the election "Best Outing of Friesland. During a festive gathering at the animal park in Leeuwarden, it was announced that AquaZoo won third place in this election organized by the ANWB.
Voters rated the nominated day attractions in terms of price/quality, atmosphere, staff, facilities and offerings.

"We have a wonderful park here, with fantastic staff who work hard every day to give both the animals and the visitors a very nice time. The team works extremely hard and this award is really a recognition of their top performance. It is very nice to see that visitors also see and appreciate their efforts." AquaZoo Leeuwarden has 88 different animal species, including penguins, sea lions, crocodiles, flamingos, various species of monkeys, a polar bear and a sloth. There is also a rowing pond, several playgrounds and children can have fun on the largest air trampoline in Friesland. The park receives around 160,000 visitors annually.
Tenth timeThis is the tenth time the ANWB has presented these awards. This year more than 80,000 people cast their votes in the categories 'province', 'national' (for attractions with more than 450,000 visitors per year) and 'across the border'. Present at the award ceremony, held at AquaZoo, were representatives of all nominated outings from the province. The first prize went to Attractiepark Duinen Zathe (Appelscha). Second place went to Puur Terschelling.
