Visitors face huge dinosaurs at AquaZoo
In addition to polar bears, otters and tapirs, giant dinosaurs will also be on display at AquaZoo this fall. Visitors to the park in Leeuwarden can come face to face with twenty lifelike dinosaurs between September 18 and October 31.
One of the prehistoric animals getting a place at AquaZoo is marine reptile Plesiosaurus. This dino, which lived in the sea, could catch fast prey such as fish with its large lower body and long neck. Plesiosaurus can be recognized by its distinctive paddles, with which it "rowed. Its rear paddles are smaller than those at the front.
Lizard of the MeuseAnother dinosaur on display at AquaZoo this fall is the Mosasaurus. This animal lived in the sea. The first fossil remains of this dinosaur were found near Maastricht, on the banks of the Meuse River. This earned the Mosasaurus the name "Lizard of the Meuse.
"With the Plesiosaurus, Mosasaurus and the other dinosaurs, of course, we make a nice link to the water and the animals in our park. Dinosaurs are the distant ancestors of some of the animals living on our globe today. This allows visitors to make the link with this era in a fun and educational way," says general manager Jeroen Loomeijer.
Movement and soundIn addition to the Plesiosaurus and Mosasaurus, the Triceratops, Tyrannosaurus rex and Velociraptor, among others, will also be given a place at AquaZoo. These lifelike dinosaurs, some of which move and make sounds, are normally on display at World of Dinos. This is the largest dino expo in Europe.
All creations will have signs with information about the eating habits, habits and way of life of these prehistoric animals.
