FOR THE THIRD TIME DREAMNIGHT AT THE ZOO AT AQUAZOO

On Friday, June 9, AquaZoo opened its doors for the third time for the foundation '

Music was played by Stichting Pasveer Korpsen, children could get their faces painted, the mascot of soccer club S.C. Cambuur came by, dinofigures walked through the park and demonstrations were given by the local fire department and animal ambulance. Of course, there was also the opportunity to take a tour of the park together with animal caretakers and volunteers from Stichting Wildlife and learn all about the various special animals that live there, such as tigers, polar bears and crocodiles. Free ice creams were distributed through Unilever and the E10 Hoeve in Leeuwarden provided dinner for the park volunteers.

"We feel it is very important as a zoo to participate in an initiative like DreamNight at the Zoo," says Jeroen Loomeijer, General Manager of AquaZoo Leeuwarden. "In this way, you hope to provide a wonderful experience for children and families who would not normally find it so easy to visit a zoo. Undisturbed and carefree enjoy a fun afternoon and evening surrounded by animals so they can forget their worries for a while."

Tickets for DreamNight at the Zoo, were issued through (children's) hospitals, institutes for chronically ill and disabled children and patient advocacy groups. This is because the medical staff of these locations are the only ones who can make a proper consideration when selecting children.
