Polar bear Nanu moves to France
Nanu, AquaZoo's youngest male polar bear, will move next week to Zoo Parc du Reynou in France. This week, visitors can still admire the polar bear extensively at AquaZoo. After the summer, polar bear Felix will also move to another zoo. This will free up space at AquaZoo to receive a polar bear couple.
Come and see Nanu off
Every day the visitor can personally wave goodbye to Nanu. This can be done from very close up, during the daily inspection of the polar bear males. During this daily inspection at 11.30 a.m., the caretakers check, among other things, the soles of the feet and the teeth of the polar bears. They also tell all about the training of the polar bears and the research done to help their fellow polar bears in the wild.
The relocation of Nanu is taking place As part of the European Breeding Program (EEP), which is an important part in the conservation of this beautiful species.
