Record number of visitors for AquaZoo Friesland

AquaZoo Friesland achieved a record number of visitors during the week of August 1 to 7. As many as 7,764 guests visited the renovated zoo in this first week of August. Research also shows guest satisfaction is on the rise.

Around this time last year, plans for the polar bear enclosure, among other things, were outlined. AquaZoo needed improvement and expansion, because with about 600 visitors a day in the peak season, the park would not remain viable. Doubling was the goal and that has now been achieved.

Branch manager Jeroen Loomeijer: "We are enormously proud of this record. Since the reopening of the park we have been receiving more and more visitors. Currently, we receive about 1,100 guests per day. A doubling compared to last year!"

Guest satisfaction rising

Guest satisfaction surveys show that visitors are particularly positive about the little surprises during their visit. For example, they are welcomed very enthusiastically at the entrance and can be spontaneously involved in a feeding by a zookeeper during their walk. There is also much more interaction during a presentation.

Overall guest satisfaction was rated 7.2 in 2015, now the park achieves an average of 7.9. Guest friendliness rose from an 8.1 to a whopping 9.1. "A great score, especially considering the higher number of visitors, which of course also requires more efforts. Guest-friendliness is one of Libéma's most important core values. All employees are therefore well trained and partly as a result more enthusiastic than before. We aim for an 8+ in the coming period," Loomeijer said.
