Dino Weeks at AquaZoo
AquaZoo Leeuwarden will organise an event dedicated to Sinterklaas on Sunday 24 November. The park will be visited by pete and there will be several festive activities. The proceeds will benefit Stichting Wildlife. Participants thus contribute to the protection of fragile nature.
The "pieten" will be present at AquaZoo between 11:00 and 14:00. Visitors can participate in various workshops and activities taking place throughout the park, such as baking "pepernoten", crafting shoes, face painting and feeding animals together with the help of the helpers. There is also a parcel hunt. General manager Jeroen Loomeijer: ‘This way, we provide parents and children with a fun day in our park, while also contributing to nature conservation through Stichting Wildlife. A win-win situation, as far as we are concerned.’
From 15 November, children will be given a craft sheet for a shoe at reception, which can also be downloaded from the website. If they hand it in at the park by 5 December at the latest, they can pick up a little Sinterklaas surprise between 6 and 15 December.
Contributing to nature conservation
Stichting Wildlife supports projects worldwide to protect vulnerable species and preserve their habitats. Wildlife Foundation volunteers are active in various activities at AquaZoo. In doing so, they raise money that is used to support the foundation's conservation projects. For example, there are projects on giant otters, South American tapirs and red pandas. Furthermore, Wildlife Foundation volunteers give educational tours for groups, school trips and children's parties.
During the Sinterklaas event, visitors can buy an activity card at the box office for 5 euros, which allows them to participate in the activities and workshops. The proceeds will go to the Wildlife Foundation.
