South American Tapir Tinus has gained an adoptive parent!

The first animal adoption at AquaZoo Friesland is a fact! The South American Tapir Tinus is the lucky animal that got an adopter. This was made possible by Stichting Wildlife, which has recently become active in AquaZoo Friesland and is committed to various conservation projects.

Stichting Wildlife

The money Stichting Wildlife donates to multiple projects comes from donors and adopters, among others. So people who adopt an animal at AquaZoo Friesland support important conservation projects! But adopters also get other privileges. For example, they are mentioned in the park and can meet 'their' adopted animal once a year under the guidance of a zookeeper from very close quarters.

Become a volunteer

You can also support Stichting Wildlife by becoming a volunteer at the park. Right now the first volunteers are being trained so that in a while they will be able to give guided tours of the park. Anyone who is over 18 years old, masters the Dutch language and is enthusiastic can become a volunteer at AquaZoo. And of course volunteers are the first to be informed of all the news about the animals! For more information visit the Stichting Wildlife website.
