Collection of Christmas trees once again a success!
AquaZoo once again started the year by collecting Christmas trees. A total of 150 trees were handed in. The trees will be given a place in the new educational Churchill area.
The first twenty Christmas trees were already received between Christmas and the turn of the year. Welkoop Leeuwarden donated the trees. During the hand-in moment on January 2, another 130 trees were handed in. One free ticket was handed out per spruce.
Currently, the Christmas trees are in a temporary location to see if the trees are still viable. Eventually, the trees will be given a place in the new Churchill area. Where stories about native species, invasive exotics and climate change will soon be told in an inspiring and educational way. The new area is expected to open in the spring.
